A warm welcome to Gladys Balmas who recently accepted the interim role of Health Policy & Planning (HPP) Manager. Tamarra Jones is filling the interim role of Director of Public Health, Policy & Planning.  

Gladys has nearly 25 years’ experience with SMC Health. In her role with Aging and Adult Services she has led continuous process improvement projects using the LEAN Global Management System, facilitated various cross department and division collaboration activities, and has been an advocate and leader for advancing SMC Health’s equity work.   

Gladys has and continues to be an advocate for transformational change to improve the lives of everyone in San Mateo. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will be a great asset to HPP during this interim period.
