The San Mateo County Food System Alliance (SMCFSA) is taking the first steps towards implementing the recommendations outlined in the Vision for a San Mateo County Food and Farm Bill. SMCFSA is working to identify an organization to lead the alliance in creating an equitable and sustainable food system throughout our county. Highlights from SMFSA’s work include increasing the amount of local produce served in school meal programs and building storage capacity within local farms to ensure they have a reliable water source for their crops. The deadline for submitting proposals was Friday, August 10th. On Monday, August 20th the RFP Review Committee met to review proposals.
