Update on Prop 15 Results and Other School Related Local and State Ballot Measures – Measure Z and T

Post

Important local bond measures were passed on the November 3rd election to support two San Mateo County school districts. Measure Z authorizing the Jefferson Union High School District to issue up to $163 million in bonds with bond revenue going to fund improvements to safety, security, emergency communication and construction of classrooms and facilities passed. And Measure T authorizing the San Mateo-Foster City School District to issue up to $409 million in bonds with bond revenue going to fund classroom upgrades, repair of bathrooms, roofs, plumbing, sewer, electrical systems, heating and cooling systems, upgrades to technology for distance learning, and health and safety features also passed.

Proposition 15 in California was defeated on the November 3rd election. Prop 15 would have amended California’s Prop 13 to allow for an increase to commercial and industrial properties to raise tax revenues for local schools. 59% of local San Mateo County voters voted to see the measure pass.
