Successful Implementation of the Inaugural School Travel Fellowship
Last year San Mateo County Office of Education Safe Routes to School Program rolled out the inaugural School Travel Fellowship to support five (5) city-school partnerships. It is essential for cities to work with high-need schools to make the neighborhood safer for students to walk and bike to school. Many successful infrastructure projects and programs were implemented through these multi-sectoral partnerships. On September 22, all five (5) cities – East Palo Alto, Redwood City, South San Francisco, San Mateo, and Daly City presented their work at the 2021-2022 School Travel Fellowship Capstone Event. We look forward to supporting additional city-school partnerships in 2022-2023. Stay tuned for the rollout of this year’s Fellowship application.
