Rebuilding Together Peninsula (RTP), one of our 2018 Get Healthy Community Implementation grantees, is making great strides in East Palo Alto. The group meets monthly with the City of East Palo Alto to design a process that will help streamline garage conversions to ensure these homes meet health and safety standards while residents can remain housed or find temporary housing in the area while renovations take place. Rebuilding Together Peninsula has submitted one of their four pilot garage conversions plans for review by the City of East Palo Alto, and it is also making good progress on devising a cost calculator for homeowners interested specifically in garage conversions to complement the ADU calculator developed by 21 Elements.
