The Board of Supervisors approved $2 million for the 2021 SMC Strong Small Business Program to continue to provide relief to small businesses impacted by the pandemic. In addition, they allocated $500,000 for Micro Food Business Grant Program and launched a pilot program in partnership with SMC Health Environmental Health Services to enable Microenterprise Home Kitchen Operations. These targeted funds for food operators will alleviate some of the hardships that the sector experienced during the pandemic and enabled home chefs to have a path to legally sell their foods to the public.
