Let’s Grow Trees to Cope with Heat Waves and Improve Health Outcomes
The webinar “Leveraging Data, Partnerships and Policies to Unlock the Multiple Benefits of Trees” highlighted the health benefits of increasing the tree canopy in formerly redlined communities, showcased a new digital tree dashboard to identify the best locations for trees, and set a path forward to increase collaboration to address barriers to planting more trees. The Extreme Heat Task Force, co-chaired by us and the Office of Sustainability, will continue to identify opportunities to increase tree canopy in under-resourced communities.
