The San Mateo County Home For All initiative recently launched a new pilot program for assisting cities with community engagement around new housing projects or developments. In addition to community engagement support, the pilot program includes a larger “Learning Network” of peer-to-peer sharing that all cities can participate in. On May 31, 2017, Home For All held the first meeting for this program at the Department of Housing to gauge interest in the program and discuss the application process and a tentative timeline. This meeting had attendees from throughout San Mateo County, with most indicating an interest to be part of this program, as either a pilot city or a Learning Network member. There will be follow-up meetings with interested cities and places in June and July, with the program expected to launch in September 2017.
