Many North Fair Oaks families attended the December Fiesta de Salud event to learn about ways to start a healthy new year. The CalFresh Healthy Living Team joined this holiday celebration and shared resources for healthy eating and active living. Participants sampled our cucumber water and took home a Kids Get Cookin’! kid-friendly, kid-approved cookbook. These recipes are a delicious way to add fruits and vegetables prepared by little chefs.

In addition, families learned about opportunities to spend time in nature and about the Mariposa Program which gives eligible families a free annual park pass to our County Parks. We hope you too will enjoy spending time in nature this holiday season and in the new year, it can lower stress and promote overall health and well-being.
