In August Community Health Planners Heather Eastwood and Erika Rincón presented at the virtual Silicon Valley Bike Coalition (SVBC) Summit. They presented on how to lead with equity in active transportation projects and Get Healthy San Mateo County’s recently released community engagement toolkit. You can check out recordings from the summit here! Additionally, congratulations to the City of Daly City for being awarded as SVBC’s Project of the Year for their recently adopted Vision Zero Action Plan that we provided technical support to ensure an equitable short and long range transportation safety plan! The City’s adoption of the plan marks the county’s first ever Vision Zero Action Plan that outlines a plan to eliminate traffic deaths, which disproportionately affect our most vulnerable communities.
