Great Collaboration Between Cities to Advance Active Transportation
In partnership with the San Mateo County Office of Education, City of East Palo Alto, City of Menlo Park, and Stanford Our Voice Initiative, local organizations conducted walk assessments around the four Ravenswood City School District schools earlier this year. After receiving great feedback from the school staff, community partners, parents, and youth to recommend changes for making the neighborhood safer for students to walk or bike to school, two temporary traffic circles are now installed in East Palo Alto (Pulgas Ave & Runnymede St; Pulgas Ave and Beech St). The City of East Palo Alto and City of Menlo Park partnership has been instrumental in this effort. Traffic circles are known to slow down the traffic, increase driver awareness, and reduce collisions. Please check these out and share your feedback!
