Every February the Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention Program (NEOP) celebrates children’s dental and oral health awareness with CalFresh Healthy Living participants. This year students in Ravenswood school district and pediatric patients at San Mateo County clinics were reminded of developing good dental habits at an early age, scheduling regular dental visits, and reducing the intake of sugary sweetened beverages by choosing water as an alternative.  They received dental kits with a toothbrush and dental floss featuring the campaign “Water, Nature’s Drink”.  Thanks to Angie Cavazos, NEOP Project Director, for putting together over 1,400 kits! This annual campaign helps children to get a good start on a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums.
