Ensuring students, teachers, and the entire school community are as safe as possible when school resumes in the fall is a high priority for San Mateo County Health and the San Mateo County Office of Education (SMCOE). Thanks to AB 86, both agencies have received funding to ensure that there is consistent collaboration and alignment between our work. This funding enabled County Health to hire one additional community health planner for one year to optimize COVID-19 related support to schools and continue to advance equitable recovery for our most vulnerable students and their families.
