Heard of California Thursdays? Students from all 5 Millbrae elementary schools were treated to a fresh, local lunch of California-grown food on Thursday, 10/22 as part of the statewide program. The Farm to School Census data report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) finds that farm-to-school programs are associated with reduced plate waste, better acceptance of healthy meals, increased school meal participation, lower program costs, and increased support from parents and community members.
