A recent report from the American Academy of Pediatrics discusses how we can improve health by better supporting the 1 in 5 children who live in poverty nationwide. The less money someone makes, the less opportunity they have to be healthy. In San Mateo County, 7.2% of families with children and 9.5% of children live below the Federal Poverty Level.
