On July 30, San Mateo County Health’s Government Alliance on Race and Equity (GARE) held a retreat to discuss the climate of equity work and its impact on staff. The retreat had staff discuss the role GARE plays to address the current climate of equity work and develop group goals for the year. 

Facilitated by justice practitioner, Robyn Bryers, the retreat created space for staff to explore the characteristics of their divisions and share existing barriers in equity work. Stay tuned for more on how goals developed at the retreat will advance County Health GARE efforts.
